As many of you might know, Pakistan is in a state of great peril. Now that I've completely awed you with my flawless synthesis of title and text I'll proceed to throw in some filler before you realize how meaningless and lacking of any significant analysis this article is and cry out in fits of fury.
Benazir Bhutto, the female former prime minister, was assassinated recently in Pakistan, which shocked and bewildered most of the world. She died either of being shot in the head, hitting her head after being shot, along with a combination with explosions nearby. I'm sure the Pakistani government is coming up with other theories as well.
This death is especially inconvenient for Pakistan because of the upcoming elections. Yes, I too have a hard time believing there were every supposed to be elections in Pakistan. Supposedly she was gaining a bit of popularity and could have been quite the contender. She is Harvard and Oxford educated, so I suppose some may consider her to be qualified. It's not like I'm jealous or anything, with my sub-par public schooling. Nope, not at all. I should be the one leading the country. You now, that doesn't sound like such a half-baked idea. I couldn't possibly make situations there any worse, could I? For goodness sakes, it's Pakistan.
But because I am not Ivy League educated, (curse you, you prestigious and taunting institutions) I don't have much of a chance, and it's just as well. I'll cope with my inadequacies with ice-cream, television, violent outbursts, and a condescending apathy. In other words, the American Way.
But yeah, Pakistan is looked pretty screwed right now, with civil strife and possibly even more violent outbursts escalating throughout. It is not a good idea to let desperate, poor, hungry, uneducated people to become even more desperate and hungry. I don't think they will enjoy their circumstances so much, especially if oppression is being thrown around in there too.
Unfortunately, Bhutto did not leave a panacea in her will. It was a routine will, as routine as it will ever be for a prominent political party with influence and an ability to invoke fantastic emotions in the right people. She didn't leave anything fun in there. Personally, if I was Bhutto, I would have designated a "Pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey day". It would diffuse anger and atom bombs everywhere. Or her "will" could have been a treasure map of sorts to the real thing. People could have made an awesome documentary about finding it, a few feature films. I would have increased interest in Pakistan by 2000%.
But whatever, I'm just jealous she didn't leave me anything. I would have gained prominence and interest in me would be increased by 2000%, which can only have awesome consequences. I'm interested in seeing what will happen to that country. They do have nuclear weapons, which can only ensure fun. I hope things work out and for Pakistan and people with competency, capability, intelligence, hard work, and a sincere desire to help will lead the country into a brighter era and out of the hands of an impending doom.
